Anybody here familiar with the sony stereo control logic ?
I bought a 2nd hand CDX-GT56OUI some weeks ago and while I have mastered all the important functions, the one thing I have not worked out is how to select ‘next album’ whilst in USB mode ?
Please note I have looked at the manual online and I have watched an online video but am still none the wiser,’next track’ and FF are no problem but cannot fathom ‘next album’.
cheers baz

TBH Snaff –
The sony is not as bad as the setup menu in my ‘other’ car – that is a bu66er just to reset the clock at spring/autumn LOL

Took me a couple of years of idle, half-hearted searching to find out how to turn off the demo mode, since it wasn’t in the display modes section of the handbook but hidden in the instructions for setting up the system from new; really irritating when the facia flashes up the manufacturers name every ten seconds or so, rather than which station or CD track is coming from the speakers…

Well it has only taken 6 weeks and I have now managed to turn off the annoying ‘Demo Mode’ and also successfully adjusted the clock 😀

Figured it out this morning LOL
Actually it is really easy … number 1 and 2 of the little preset buttons at the bottom of the unit are clearly marked ‘Album’ (in very small letters !)… which my old eyes had not even seen 😀
So No1 to go to previous and No2 to go to next album !

I have a horrible feeling one has to go into ‘Quick Browzer’ which is a real PITA !
Huh if only it was that easy LOL…had a quick play while stuck in traffic and at least managed to get into the USB main menu…but no idea how i did it LOL !
Will try again tomorrow 😀

Thanks Moggy but the USB stick seems to be fine…just had another browse this morning and I have a horrible feeling one has to go into ‘Quick Browzer’ which is a real PITA !
I am more used to pioneer car stereos – and for the basic functions they are very intuitive !
However the Sony has good sound quality and was cheap – so perfect for my 2nd car 😀

Generally when a problem like this crops up it is to do with the directory structure of the USB stick
