Loss of Humour.

It appears to me that according to this poll on EDP website, that nearly half of the people who voted, have lost their sense of humour.

Would this sign offend you?

All I did when I saw the sign was 😀 😀 😀

I don’t find that offensive at all, I quite like that they’re showing a sense of humour, almost laughing at themselves. But then what do I know.

I dont find it offensive either, but, if someone chose to attempt to reinforce the message I may feel it necessary to point out the alternate interpretation of the sign which is:

‘if you dont do as I say my invisible friend will get you’

…which may in fact cause offense!

The only problem with religion, is——- aaah—– religion?

No, it’s (some of) the practitioners of (some of) them.

At least the Christian poster is only a threat that you won’t need central heating in the afterlife, they don’t send a hit squad round to burn your house down, unlike some of our benevolent religions.

Ridicule them? Hell, why not stone them to death… Kill the unbelievers!

Of course, it does depend on what you disbelieve in…

Pregnant woman given death sentence in Sudan is kept shackled in her cell

An eight-months pregnant woman is being kept shackled to the wall of her cell as she awaits hanging, her husband has said after visiting her in prison.
Meriam Ibrahim, 26, was sentenced to death in Sudan on Thursday for refusing to recant her Christianity and for marrying Christian Daniel Wani – a Sudanese man with US citizenship who lives in New Hampshire
The court found her guilty of apostasy – leaving Islam – even though Miss Ibrahim testified that she was never a Muslim, and was brought up as a Christian by her Ethiopia-born mother…

They used to lock up people who believed in invisible friends; now the looney bins are closed and (as has always been, unfortunately) religion is out there, being religious.

Its a shame an atheist has chosen to jump on the ‘I’m offended’ bandwagon. That’s for people who have to silence their opposition because they can’t defend their beliefs with reason. The best thing to do with posters like that is ridicule them or just ignore them

Moggy from what I understand when Jesus is alleged to have ascended into heaven after his run in with the Romans he did a vertical take off. I may be wrong but from the paintings I have seen it was the method. Their is no mention of him running down the road flapping his arms violently. Now with the second coming a runway may be required for fiery chariots to land.

Got to have a sense of humour to live in Norfolk.

Signs like that do not offend me but people who knock on my door to tell me the wonders of Jesus Christ do.

Things seem to have changed.

It used to be earnest young men in suits and a evangelical compulsion that appeared on the doorstep.

In this part of Norfolk it is now some really nice, jolly, black people who are happy to accept “It’s a working day and I work from home” as a rebuttal and will leave with a cheery wave if you take their proffered Watchtower. I have read the whole thing and there seems very little in it about airfield buildings. Quite a disappointment.

I’m still waiting for a poster with “this could be you” and a picture of an orgy of virgins underneath it, having been released by one of the other religions…

It’s a pity that someone, in the police force, didn’t think to ask “disgusted of Attleborough” a pertinent question, before getting the full majesty of the law to creak into action, and that would be, “Are you a Christian?”
If the answer is no, then he cannot believe in Heaven and Hell, so how can he get upset about a “threat” to send him to a place that doesn’t exist? To take it a stage further, only Christians are likely to believe in the existence of Hell, and, since they believe, they won’t get sent there, so where’s the threat?
Once again we have the law made to appear an ass, because the world is full of people who insist on getting offended on my behalf, when they could actually be trying to do something useful.

I used to enjoy inviting them in and then after half-an-hour or so of very polite discussion they were making their excuses to leave!! Can’t be bothered anymore…..

I must admit to a good laugh telling these people in Anglo Saxon how to leave my premises and which orifice to place their book of fairy tales.

Personally i don’t find it funny in any way shape or form [on the comedic side ] but i am as a non believer not upset by it either.I feel it is sad that people allow a non provable thing such as religion to rule their lives and get upset by it either way.
