Well, this is a ‘turn up for the book’ ! The wheels of justice in N.I. do grind slowly but, they grind exceedinglt small.
Who would have guessed it ? Let us hope beyond hope that the CPS can make something hefty actually stick. I gather the penalty options are limited according to the way that the Good Friday Agreement was set up but, a conviction would be damaging leading perhaps to some civil suits.
It’s a funny old world. The top gangsters in the IRA seem to be bullet proof (forgive the pun) but our soldiers can be arraigned with impunity. Something there doesn’t seem to be quite right.

So – no case to answer! I thought the McConville family were prepared to name their mother’s killer…..

Tony T when the Good Friday agreement was signed I said to those present that the trouble have not gone away don’t kid yourselves. They may have quietened down for a bit but unfortunately it runs to deep to end. You have “walked the bricks” like me. Unfortunately unless a miracle happens another generation will be patrolling the streets in NI.

Hear, hear Tony – my thoughts entirely! Double standards or what?!

What rankles with me is the fact that the mall bomber has been told he has immunity from prosecution, something I can see happening here too.
The will happily go after and prosecute a pedo from 40 years ago, but won’t do the same to murderers, you then get Cameron stating he will treat pedo’s the same as terrorists…. I hope not, because they appear to be letting terrorists go scot free.

Indeed so.:(

And unfortunately as with every act of terror it will be the innocent ones that are killed, maimed and left to grieve.

My worry is that this will now reopen all the tensions, hatreds and sectarianism that blighted Ireland over the years.
.
Which will illustrate clearly, if more clarity was needed, just how much was bought off for the “peace”!

I hope all the murderers who are now hiding in suits and hobbing knobbing with the upper echelons in a false diplomatic circles face trial and get their comeuppance.
My worry is that this will now reopen all the tensions, hatreds and sectarianism that blighted Ireland over the years.
I hope the population say no to more violence and continue moving forward for peace.

Wouldn’t that be good ! The ‘biter being bit’.

Tony T I am with you on this. I do feel that this must stir up a load of animosity towards him so perhaps he should be put in a “safe house” may I suggest it is run by the Shankill Butchers.

With hanging abolished, he’s unlikely to get a suspended sentence.

I think there’s more than one……!

Nice, now go and get that other thug.

We can only hope that if the evidence is sustainable prosecutions will follow without political pressure being brought to bear.

Having served in NI one hopes justice will be served.
