The group excels in working with alloys and metals that are difficult to shape and form.

Head of Department Aerospace
has become available at the company’s manufacturing facility in Bochum (Germany).
Role:
• Co-ordination and completion of development projects focussed on the mass production of turbine vanes / blades with a CC, DS or SX structure.
• Manage a growing department with at present 4-5 people. In the case of project work the number of indirect reports could rise.
• Development of the Aero department focussing on the strategically important market segment of single-crystal rigid components for low and high pressure turbine stages.
• Preparation of optimal costing concepts for the production of aircraft gas turbine vanes / blades
• Single point of contact for technical questions from customers.
Profile:
• Minimum of 5 years practical experience in the precision casting of aircraft gas turbine vanes / blades, together with knowledge of customers and competitors.
• Age 30-40.
• Proven CC, DS and SX expert with metallurgical and dimensional background knowledge. Ideally the candidate has a degree as a casting engineer (TU) or has a closely linked subject (ferrous metallurgy, materials science etc.) in his CV.
• You have management experience or are looking for your first managerial role.
• Experience in the management of development projects within large user programs like Rolls Royce Trent or General Electric.
• Experience of direct, technical customer contact at various levels is an important criterion.
• Balanced, mature, communicative, strong and far-sighted personality, who is both ambitious, target and result oriented with a high social competence.
• Solution and technically oriented personality, who is, besides the factual issues, above all interested in new developments and can also, grasp them in detail without losing sight for the entirety.
• Ability to motivate the staff, gaining their acceptance and utilize their potential.
• Ability to integrate (team player) in the daily business is a prerequisite.
• Identification with the company, its products and its philosophy.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. The successful candidate must be willing to learn the German language.
• Mastery of the current MS Office products.
• Willing to travel where required.
