Coltishall

As someone who has always had a thing about Jaguars how easy is it to fly in to Coltishall , just PPR and pay the rates for a stop of an hour? I would like to be able to fly in whilst they still operate Jaguars out of there.
Anybody on here ever been?

His own words, he owns 90% of the exhibits.

When it closes some of the pieces are going to Norwich Aviation Museum, the rest to the City Library.

A large group of us had a visit to RAF Coltishall yesterday evening organised by Dale and Andrea of Anglia Flight, we had an excellent presentation, in the Museum Room, by Mr M Jennings MBE covering the history of the Station.
The whole thing was extremely interesting…

🙂

It is indeed a most fascinating place – seen it several times when running courses there. I believe that Mick Jennings owns most, if not all of the pieces on display and I hope that there will still be the opportunity to see it after the base closes at the end of the year.

Am sure I speak for everyone involved when passing on my most sincere thanks to Dale and Andrea for organising it.

Whilst I’m passing thanks to them I might also add that the evening presentation at Happy Landings Bar, Hangar 10, Norwich Airport on March 9th was also a most interesting event, with a series of presentations going back to the original Mousehold Aerodrome of the Twenties – a fantastic insight.

Many thanks to you both……..

🙂

Hi,

I believe that the flying club members are fighting to be able to use the base until it becomes unlicensed and the fire crews are reassigned to different bases. Therefore it you contact the flying club in the near future; you will probably be able to fly in. I was until very recently, a member there myself. If you e-mail me, I will put in contact with the CFI.

p.s. the link below is of pictures of Coltishall Flying Clubs Cessna.

Not the Kelley from the late but unlamented Apex Fright training with the Police lady Mum? how the heck are you?

I have been there a number of times as my son spent a 3 yr posting there, and private aicraft landed. Don’t know about present as it is due to close very soon. Must admit i have never flown in

Flying ceases at the end of March. The whole base will be closed by the end of the year. 😡

You might want to try the RAF Coltishall Flying Club link HERE in the first instance. There’s an occasional frequenter of this forum who has his own aircraft based there as far as I know. Until operational flying ceases at the end of March, I would assume that PPR would only be allowed and apply at weekends.
