I read this news on the internet earlier this morning and subsequently have been thinking just how big his influence was on that generation of musicians. He seems to have a part of my musical life for ever!! I can still hear the Weavers’ “Goodnight Irene”, an old Leadbelly song, I think. And of course he was still working and protesting into his 90s.
How about this from just a year ago at Farm Aid? And the timbre of that wonderful voice is still discernible.
