Pissed off with this world and all the bad things done in it’s name or not.

Come on God ,prove you are here, cure ill’s,wars etc.

It is nice to see the tolerance of some. 😡

The playground is now closed… And expect the thread to be deleted as a whole.

I understand that and I disagree with much of what he and others have said but the way he is being bullied and insulted by others is a sad testament to the general lack of tolerance shown on this forum to those who dare to disagree. The result of a largely unmoderated forum I guess.

Derek.

Sometimes things in life jangle and clash. As in this case. I Just find it somewhat strange that a man with RpR’s penchant for firearms as demonstrated ably in the dross of the 2nd Amendment thread should appear to have embraced the Christian Faith so fully. Surely the Christian Faith is about love, peace and tolerance. I’m sure it says in the Bible that we are to love our fellow man. Nowhere in the Bible as far as I know does it suggest that we should love our fellow man but keep an arsenal under our bed just in case. Isn’t one of the Commandments that Christians live by ‘Thou shalt not kill?’ Yet in one of RpR’s earlier posts he asked why doesn’t anyone have the right to take a life?

Thankfully, RpR’s guns and his somewhat obscure interpretation of Christianity are a few thousand miles away. If I were a Religious man I’d probably be thanking God for that.

Another thread turns into a insult-trading exchange with a bit of playground bullying thrown in. Those who dare to put their points of view forward that may differ from others should be free to do so without the pathetic name calling and insults that seem to be rife around here nowadays.

If you are going to turn this into a personal invective, take it else where.

As you wish.

PS don’t forget to bring your gun.

So, why do you need a gun?

Someone with your Religious ideology and a penchant for firearms is a tragedy just waiting for an excuse.

Who said anything about need and what do guns have to do with this thread?

If you are going to turn this into a personal invective, take it else where.

Is this for real? Not knowing the personalities involved I thought this was a parody at first!

LOL! An easy mistake to make. The guy is a babbling idiot, even blamed the devil for getting him kicked off Fox TV.

In other news, another nail in the coffin of creation nonsense:

One of the foundations of the bible are the 10 good ideas. Ignoring the fact that half of them deal with the main character being a vain & jealous despot. It has to rank as one of the greatest missed moral opportunities in the entire history of the planet.
It could have commanded ANYTHING at all. They could have clearly & unmistakably forbidden war, tyranny, taking over other peoples countries, slavery, exploitation of workers, cruelty to children, wife beating, stoning & treating women (or anyone) as chattel or inferior beings.

Reminds me of when christians say “how can you be moral with the bible?” As though the only thing stopping them from committing murder etc is some stupid book written 2000 years ago. WTF? That must by why their religious leaders rape children, because the book doesn’t specifically tell them not to.

I have, in fact I’ve read and studied the whole Bible, several times!
and to make things interesting…
I’ve also read the Qur’an!

For those that haven’t I suggest you do, you’d be surprised just how much the two have in common! —- One should not be as Jesus Gospel was hundreds of years old when the Muslim religion was created.
Much like the Gnostic religion it took the Gospel and corrupted it.

And to be picky….
It’s “you’re”

My bad.

What a miserable, dispiriting thread this has become with members resorting to personal abuse, which I thought was against the CoC in any case.
I hope it gets closed but I shan’t see it if it is.

Then look at the Buddhism and the “Noble Eightfold Paths” and look at how similar the principles are to the much, much younger Christian religion teachings!

And to be picky….

Ewwe, your getting a bit testy again

It’s “you’re”

Your 23 pages, are 23 pages of opinionated bs as far as facts go.

Whereas you follow a book which is 100% hearsay from cover to cover & is inadmissible in a court of law. Not ONE word of it was written at the time the events are claimed to have happened. Not ONE word of it was authored by any sort of supreme sky fairy & not one word of it worth a pile of cow**** as far as knowledge or information is concerned.

Perhaps you could explain why your supreme being didn’t include instructions on how to purify water so people didn’t continue to crap themselves to death for almost 2000 years after it was written? Yes, I asked that before, you ignored it.
Was the question above your IQ, pay grade or reading level?

I am not going read the entire New Testament

Nor have you ever, I doubt you’ve read more than 5% of it.

A good friend of mine, who happens to be a Pastor, made a statement a few years ago that made a lot of people stop and think:

“We should be more like Jesus and not be so religious”

I do not know your pastor or the doctrine his church follows, but such remarks are made in the Bible, to paraphrase, keep your conversations, direct relations, with God in absolute privacy, but spread the Good News (gospel) ethusiastically without fear.

Fighting over which dogma is correct, does not do the latter. Sadly such cluster-f distortions of Jesus word started shortly after he left with Peter and Paul going head to head, over some one was wrong.

What (if anything) does the Bible say will happen to a person who commits suicide?

There is one verse, of which that is not the central topic so do not ask me to paste as I am not going read the entire New Testament to find it, that says those who end their life before their appointed time will greatly regret it.

That is the only thing it says.

Do we need “God” to be kind to others?
….No we don’t.
