Hi.
This is just a small warning of something I did not know. WW2 gas masks contained blue asbestos in the filter chamber.
It is surprising that over 1300 have been sold on auction sites so far this year.
I work for Royal Mail and we have just been given instructions regarding these masks and what to do if we find any damaged packets containing these items.
The Imperial War Museum have also given an statement and this is below.

I know that the asbestos in aircraft has been mentioned on the historic forum and thought this should be highlighted to the collectors amongst us.
