Northrepps temporarily closed

Just heard that Northrepps has been closed for two months in light of a safety review that is about to take place after the second landing accident in 11 days and several others over recent years.

Appropriate reg. if the grass was wet on this occasion 😀

Wonder if the owner was in the same hospital as Wozza with his foot? 😀

Love the humour on the airfield website 😎

No, I live a good 100 miles away

If the picture in the local RAG is correct, G-AWET.

Ah I remember seeing it on the local news now – G-AWET. Only thing is, I could have sworn it was yellow – in some photos of it on the net it is.

Any ideas of the registration of the Cherokee?

It is apparently Old Buck based, but not one of their fleet.

I do feel sorry for the owner, especially as he is getting the blame from speculators, leave him alone, he was in hospital a lot earlier this year, it just goes to show you how idiotic some pilots really are. By the way if you want the airports website its: http://www.chris.gurney.co.uk/

What are you talking about Wozza? nobody is getting on his back in here http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/rolleye/rolleye0011.gif

Is there another general aviation forum?

Rumour and idle speculation – sounds good to me !

The owner voluntarily closed it for two months after the Old Buckenham PA28 overran the runway last week according to the local Radio station.

This has been done to death on another aviation forum where rumour, opinion and conjecture abounds on this particular issue! Maybe we shouldn’t start the hares running on this forum about who/what/why until the AAIB report is out…….?

This is bad luck for the owner- it is not his fault if some plonker attempts to land a big Cessna twin (421) on what is little more than an ambitious farm-strip.

At least this has happened at the start of winter, rather than the spring.
