A few photos from Leicester

I was over at Leicester sorting out lessons on Tuesday. The sun was shining so I hung around for a while and sat outside with a drink and a bacon sandwich.

Oh, and I took a few photos, including an aeroplane I’ve not seen before.

According to G-INFO its a Coombe AC Fred series 3.

As well as all the normal Cessna’s and PA-28’s there was also a very nice Jodel and this Tiger Moth was giving pleasure flights.

King Airs give me the hump anyway………….!!
Cheers,

PS – But not the one at Leicester which is operated most professionally as a corporate aircraft.

In your first photo, it appears that the King Air(?) is taking piggy back!

‘Bumsel’ is a homebuilt (no doubt once built by a Mr. Coombe) from plans known as a Clutton-Tabenor Fred. Powered by a 50hp-ish VW, it was designed to have a very low-speed wing and short take-off run.

It belongs to a mate of mine, I’ll forward him the directions to this string, I’m sure he can tell us more about it.
