PanzerJohn.
I wouldn’t ban the TT. But then again I don’t condone the replications of said event round Derbyshire, particularly Cromford and Matlock Bath and then up over the Cat and Fiddle that take place every sunday in the summer. Or for that matter those that treat the ride up the Horseshoe Pass to the Ponderosa as a hill climb/time trial either. You are of course right in that natural selection does free the world of some of the idiots. But all too often the take their pillion with them or some other poor soul who was just minding their own business.I too, in a different capacity to Jim, have had to inform people of a death or help them agonise over whether/when a machine should be turned off. It really isn’t a pleasant experience. But not as unpleasant as Mr and Mrs Smith coming home from their Sunday afternoon at the garden centre to find that little Billy is no more.
I can see the thrill in speed, I can see the enjoyment of a motorcycle, but I can’t see the thrill in placing myself and others in danger.
Enjoy your pootle, it really is a lovely evening for it.
Regards,
