For the rest of us, it means half of the number of cars on the road during the rush hours.

I don’t know about your area but around here even at 0500 you can tell the kids are off school as every morning is like a Sunday.

Mr Trumper, that’s unlucky. I don’t notice the holidays around here, but that might be because there are very few people aged under 80 in my close.

I know when the schools break up,we get things chucked as us,trespassers and general mayhem.

On the positive side the rush hours seems alot easier

Hi Baz

Over the other side of Cornwall to you, in deepest Truro, the College broke up last week and the comprehensives finish next Friday the 19th, the posh sods have probably already broken up by the lack of traffic into Truro this morning, but the Trafalgar roundabout ****-up (sorry, traffic improvement scheme) continues to cause delays!!

cheers

Allan

Depends on the schools. The private ones seem to break up earlier than the ordinary ones, well in Cambridge.

They do – two weeks earlier, varying from area to area as do state school terms.

Yup, We used to dread the holidays, when some of the kids were interviewed with their parents in attendance, one of the stock replies was,”Well, I did it because I was bored”, Had it been one of my 3 kids, they wouldn’t have just got away with just a warning/caution from the O.D. One thing that never ceased to amaze me is that what it was that they stole, 9 out of ten didn’t want/or need the items anyway!!.

Oh yes the rush hour in Cambridge is almost bearable when the little posh darlings in Mummys big 4 x 4 are at home or abroad.

7 weeks of hell for the poor bloody parents, those who work are forever stressed trying to sort out childcare, annual leave used up for no good reason, never ending demands for more cash & ice cream from equally bored offspring.

Thank God my one is pretty much grown up now.
