EU agrees ban on menthol cigarettes while planning tobacco subsidies

The EU is to ban menthol cigarettes http://www.rte.ie/news/2013/0621/457896-eu-cigarettes/, and is at the same time looking at giving subsidies to EU tobacco growers again.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/9844395/MEPs-plan-tobacco-subsidies-as-Brussels-fights-smoking.html

One part of the EU bureaucracy is keeping itself busy on the pressing problem of cough-mixture flavoured cigarettes. Another part is encouraging the growing of cancerous weeds through the possible return of tobacco farming subsidies, paid for by the EU taxpayer.

The EU, the gift that keeps on giving to UKIP.

I cease to be surprised at this sort of bureaucratic baloney which emanates from Brussels with appalling regularity.
