1600cc WV prop

Does anyone knows something about a 3 or 4 bladed prop for the 1600cc VW engine?

Any help appreciated.

Are they both from wood?
It’s not recommended to put metal props on the VW engines

If you want facory built props you could try Warpdrive or MT. I seem to recall both do props for the VW motor.

Spit = taboo subject around these here parts! 😉

The way modifications go with the PFA is that they are usually approved by the designer of the aircraft, although since John Taylor is no longer with us, I’m not quite sure how it works.

However, his son (Terry) may give approval to the mods, and also since they were incorporated into another Taylor previously.

I’m not quite sure, to be honest, so you’d have to ask others more knowledgable around here!

Q: if I build the taylor mono with retractable undercarriage, will it be approved by the PFA?

He made it himself. He smashed it up once when he forgot to lower the undercarriage.

Well, G-BEHM was discribed in a article that was with the original plans but that was about 25 years ago!

And look at my Avatar, that Taylor Mono has a 4-bladed prop.

Chris Lodge in the UK might be your best bet – certainly not seen a Taylor Mono (which I assume this is what the prop is for) fitted with one, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done, I guess.

He manufactures wooden props – from what I’ve heard his props are really good quality.

He’s also probably something of an authority on the Mono, since he’s built two! (Technically, anyway, since his one was crashed by someone else, and he recovered as much of it as he could and rebuilt it.)
