Hi everyone. Taking the family for a break in Southern Ireland next week. We are staying near Killorghan. I hope to be able to get a day on aviation stuff. I have been told there is a flying boat/sea plane museum in that area. Has anyone got any details about it and if anyone has been is it worth a visit? Also,is there anything else aviation related that you think may be of interest, preferably historic?

Mine was just a flying visit…wish I could have spent more time there, the south west coast is beautiful,I suppose the only downside is cost, like many countries it was much cheaper pre EU

Hi bazv, many thanks for the information, I will try to visit, it looks good. Your pictures on the link are stunning, you’ve certainly given us something else to go and look for.

Definitely worth a visit to the flying boat museum,I did not have much time to look around but in the link below there are a couple of ‘taster’ pics…I was on my way to see Skellig Michael and it was my priority for that visit in 2010,the museum is on the south side of the estuary at Foynes.
