Bergen, Brazil and the 739

Guys,

Just got back from Bergen in Norway and thought I’d mention a couple of things. Haven’t got time for a report at the moment; I may get round to that in the next few days – so apologies.

Firstly, MME seem to running the AMS with all three Fokker types with KLM with the 50,70 and 100 all taking a turn during the day. I went out on the F50 (KXH) and hated it – not the best I’m afraid with turboprops!

Into Bergen I flew on a 734 (PH-BTA) a 1991 example. Was surprised to see a larger 737 on this route and would have expected an F100 or 733 for example but the flight was full so obviously the loads are there.

Most interesting was my return into AMS which was on a 739 (PH-BXO). I didn’t know it was a 739 because it is just too similar to the 738 to distinguish when they’re not side by side to compare. Also the safety sheet said 737-800 and 737-900 inside. Anyway, it was a 739 and it was empty! I counted around 50 people on board! One of the best flights I’ve had on such a rare machine too.

Anyway, found out last week that I’m going to Brazil next month and the flight details came through whilst I’m away. Off with Air France on a 744 so am looking forward to that. Never been to GIG or CDG and I’ve never flown with Air France before either, so many firsts to come.

Hoopefully I’ll get a report out in a few days. 🙂
