Don’t read this with a mouthful of cream crackers or you will be cleaning the living room for days!

I find much of today’s humour to be about as funny as terminal cancer.
I’m with you Kev. But then I do find Miranda usually provides two or three ‘laugh out loud’ moments in each episode. So not all is lost
(Helped by the three female co-stars – each of whom are seriously good at comedy acting. Different from ‘stand-up, I know)

Android phones do precisely the same. At least, mine does.
Yes they do – I have had both. But I don’t use auto-correct. Then you don’t have the problem!:diablo:

Having recently got an iPhone, I can relate.
But, on the whole, I find it incredibly smart. If you make a mistake, it changes it to a word whose letter’s are in a similar position on the keyboard.
I could write something completely nonsensical like “Jsoot Virtgsau” and it would correctly change it to “Happy Birthday”.I think some of those auto-correct errors were deliberately placed.

1. Regretfully, although I am an ageing old b***ger, I did not have to look it up!!

1. Don’t look pegging up if you don’t need to know what it is because you will probably then not want to know what it is
2. A drunk I am not, they led me astray. Alcohol is not my thing.

…and an offer to which you gave due consideration, I have no doubt!:diablo:
Not in this instance when all i could think of was whether my stubble reminded her of george michael…but i did have a very drunken and amusing but highly inappropriate conversation between pubs with a work colleague who mentioned doing something to me with something of hers which resulted in neither attraction nor repulsion but instead saw me adopt the lecturing tone of a drunk and inform her that the correct term is pegging.

I gave up at chicken vaginas. However, a genuine one I received from a girl with predictive text on her i-phone (which is the cleverest invention in the world I believe) just before christmas was “anus plans for the weekend?” which DID make me smile but that was contextual, of little humour to anyone else.

When a stand up tells you a humorous story and you laugh, do you believe the story, or do you just accept it for the humorous anecdote it’s supposed to be?
Whilst tending to agree with Kev’s general comments above I don’t think it has ever occurred to me that a stand-up’s joke was ever a true story. They are gags, aren’t they?
That’s the difference with these sad texts, which are posted on the internet as real exchanges. And they are not even humourous.

Are there any stand up comedians today? Most of the ones I see on tv wouldn’t know a joke if it came up and bit them on the bum. They see their time on screen and stage as an invitation to bully and berate and for some comedians (I use the term loosely) if they cut out the expletives their act would be very short indeed.
I find much of today’s humour to be about as funny as terminal cancer.

Nothing to do with age, Alan but gullibility. No one actually believes these are mistakes, do they??

The trouble with being older means that you can remember when standards were much higher…

I don’t know if it’s just me ?, but I fail to see anything remotely amusing.
Maybe it’s an age thing ?
I’m glad you said that, because I gave up half way through the list. Then again, I always just assumed that I’m a miserable, misanthropic, misogynistic old c**t.
I actually don’t even know what those devices are.
Are they some sort of mobile telephones..?
