Lancaster Radio button colours?

I’ll post this here as it’s a bit off topic.

Those large Lancaster Bomber (and other aircraft) radios have large dials in Red, Yellow and Blue. I have also seen more modern radios that use these colours. Can someone explain what those dials do and what the colours signify please.
