Mau Mau Ruling

Mau Mau now, EOKA next

How about the victims of the Atom Bomb tests and those guinea Pigs at Porton Down, most were National Service men. Did they get paid out and a public apology?

Did the Japanese ever pay out to the British POW’s?

Why? Did they owe them some money?

If – according to you – the Mau Mau don’t deserve anything, then why would ‘British POWs’ deserve anything?

If my Dad was alive today, he’d be 108. Go back only ten times that, and the Vikings were terrorising the north east coast of Scotland, and taking people away in chains as slaves.
I DEMAND COMPENSATION FROM THE NORWEGIAN AND DANISH GOVERNMENTS FOR WHAT THEY DID TO MY ANCESTORS!

We could have a right old session here, we have the Angles and the Saxons originating from Germany, then the Normans who nipped over from France for a bit of conquest, throw in the Romans next, mind you Italy is skinter than we are so probably not much joy there.

Anybody fancy explaining to the Yanks as to who actually owns their territory.

The Mau Mau were not exactly brave freedom fighters, they were a pretty uncompromising bunch themselves not above rape, torture and plain murder, but of course some lawyer ( in return for a big paycheck probably funded by us) will explain how these poor individuals were wilfully abused and denied all pretence of human rights.

Because we, or rather those who act on our behalf, act selectively not rationally, swayed by media reaction and the irrational outpourings of politicians and others whose views are in the public domain.

I see your point. But as an aside, dead criminals are not pursued, so how does that square up now to the investigation(s) into the alleged activities of Jimmy Savile?

War criminals from WW2 are still actively pursued. Is there any reason why anyone who has contravened the law should be allowed to get away with it? Regardless of how long ago it was. As long as there are witnesses, victims and evidence, the rule of law should be allowed to run its course.

Mau Mau ruling

Hi Paul

I completely agree with your comments – and after those nice EOKA people come along next they will most probably be followed by someone who
will emerge from the Aden era who was beated up by British troops, after shooting at them of course, but of course they didn’t mean to.

I can already see where this is going to come out when it reaches the Courts – all these nice old gentlemen treated so badly by the evil forces of the British empire.

Who will explain with sufficient conviction, and will it be reported as such in some parts of the British press (and the BBC), just what these people did to white settlers and, in the main, fellow tribesmen.

Yet again, just like the Bloody Sunday inquiry, former squaddies, or colonial staff at junior level, will be dragged in to court and asked to explain themselves 55 plus years after it happened, and the government will dump on them.

Allan
