Alexandair – Get Your Act Together!

Hey,

Alexandair have had an awful summer so far @ Manchester. 5 hour delay on Thursday, 9 hour delay today. I really feel sorry for the people booked on them. 🙁

Maybe they should invest in some new aircraft. A charter carrier flying knackered MD-82s is looking for trouble anyway.

Just to mention the earlier XLA POP flight into NCL, now delayed 32 hours and will be operated by a Boeing 747-300. Apparently the 767-300 returned to POP with a problem shortly after takeoff.

Delays do happen and not only with airlines flyng one aircraft. Only last night a FUA flight DUB-LPA was looking as though it would be delayed by 6+ hours but thank god the problem was fixed. Another airline namely Adria airways who are operating a number of aircraft are constantly getting delayed on flight from DUB and dont even get me started on Eirjet.

Hope to see their MD82 for the 1st time when I go in a couple of weeks :).

They are quite a sight to watch take-off, as the they use the whole of the runway. I have seen many go onto the 06L markings on takeoff! 😮 😀

As Matt says – delays happen, and when you get problems with the only a/c in your fleet, problems are going to occur.

Hope to see their MD82 for the 1st time when I go in a couple of weeks :).

I guess if they have a delay for whatever reason when they only operate one aircraft, then it will have a knock on effect to the rest of their flights.

If they are flying a program that needs more than 1 aircraft to do than that’s bad planning from them.

Does anyone know which holiday company they are operating for, the charter timetable section of the MAN website doesn’t list there flights. I’m guessing maybe Libra?

I think the problem lies in the error of your final sentence “A charter carrier flying knackered MD-82s is looking for trouble anyway.” This implies they have more than one aircraft, which they do not. 😉
