Right, don’t ever say I never gave you guys anything 😀
Went to New York this week, and had to go and see the USS Intrepid Museum. Got an up-close and personal look at the Concorde on display, former BA bird G-BOAD. Thought you guys might like some pictures, so here they are!
Also picked up a little box with two Corgi diecast Concordes, G-BOAA and G-BOAC, in what appears to be 1/400 scale. Nice job done given the small size, I think. Got a 4-hour Concorde DVD as well, which I’ll probably watch here shortly. Lastly, picked up Kev Darling’s book on Concorde, which, although it had a number of inconsistencies and errors in the Tu-144 section (said section being the real reason I picked it up, sue me 😀 ), is a really great tribute to Concorde. A really great read, I was up late reading it at the hotel. Easy to read and informative, this guy knows what he’s doing and is definitely in the right job.

Wish those engine inlets were covered in. Sea air and Sea birds will not do the internals any good.

It just doesn’t seem right, seeing this marvelous piece of twentieth century technology, tethered to the Earth
