Just booked some holiday around Paris Airshow and wondering what Airfields are worth visiting around Paris.
Anybody been to any of these , are they big small, any interesting aircraft vintage / ultralights etc.
Toussus Le Noble (been here in 1980s but cannot remember it)
Beynes
Chaveney
Les Mureaux
La Ferte Alais (Museum)
Melun
Lognes
Chelles
Enghien
Does any of these take us little ones for Airshow visitors.
Let us know anything ,any thoughts or where you going to over Paris Weekend

Thanks Melyvn,
Was thinking of doing the Museum at La Bourget Museum and hoping to see the A380 for the Airshow on Saturday then onto Le Ferte Alais on Sun with a few Airfields in between.
Thanks Trev , will check out the maps and see where to go. Most helpful.

Paris flown into most of these airfileds.
If you think of Paris like London with airfield dot all around you have a similar thing.
Last Paris we left the aircraft at St Cyr.
Previous we left it at Lognes.
Now ATC, most light airfields in France will have no ATC some do at weekends and the odd day in the week but seems very hit and miss.
Toussus is big full ATC and lots of light aircraft and the main Ga airfield to paris.
Need to get a taxi to the nearest Railway station and railway in.
St Cyr not far from Toussus again nice airfield with a few interesting aircraft.
Outside airfield walk up hill to Railway station.
Lognes lots of light aircraft
Taxi to Metro station.
Les mureaux
Lots of homebuilt types here.
Railway line runs by not to sure were the nearest station is.
La Fert Alais.
Interesting museum on a par with Old Walden/Shuttleworth trust.
I have seen visiting aircraft here.
Chaveney lots of light aircraft some interesting older types.
Chelles. Small airfield.
Beynes Gliding airfield.

Thinking of going to the Aircraft Museum At La Bourget. Does anybody know if there are views from the museum out onto the airfield.
Yes, there are. Go and see the pre-WW1 and WW1 exhibit, it should be mandatory for all aviation people.
We will be there the week before the Airshow and hope to see something there.
Any ideas
Go there and enjoy it.
If you are there at a weekend then a trip to La Ferte might be good too.

I think Toussus and Pontoise are the GA fields of choice.

Don’t forget St Cyr next door to Versailles.
La Ferte is much less of a GA field and more of a museum. Some of the others may get busy but I have no first-hand knowledge.
Once in the Paris area the public transport is pretty good.
