Hi Guys,
I thought you might like to know about a possible event at MAN this weekend.
Below are extracts from a couple of mails received from a manchester spotters mailing list.
I hope the authors do not mind my sharing this information.

Apologies if this is wild kite-flying, but I’ve heard from what I believe to be 2 totally independent sources that the A380 may be either visiting or doing a fly by at MAN on Sunday 24th. I would have said that it was unlikely given that I’m not aware of it visiting anywhere outside France as yet, but has anyone heard anything more concrete?

I have heard suggestions that it may come for the Hawarden “families day”. If Mancheter controllers get their way, it would be likely to do a flyby here on the way, as many interesting passers by do.
Don’t know when the Hawarden event is, though.

Hi all I have a mate who lives in the USA and he told me this
(Today I got a message from the Yahoo! LHR newsgroup (to which I belong), saying that the A380 is expected to come to LHR 29 & 30 April (Sat. & Sun.).
They said that the BAA and LHR Visitors Centre told them the A380 is coming that weekend, and that BAA “would be laying something on for the enthusiasts” at the Visitors Centre. I wonder what it will be?
If this is true, I definitely plan to be out at LHR (armed with my camera) to see the A380!
Have you heard anything about this?)
he also posted it on airliners.net
Has anyone else heard about this?

Manchester – 10th June apparently.
Moggy
That date seems quite likely as I’ve received information from the Severnside Aviation Group saying the A380 is due at Filton for the Airbus/RR Families Day, which also happens to be on Saturday 10th June.
It would be quite easy for it to fly up to Manchester for the Airbus Hawarden Families Day after visiting the Airbus Filton Families Day .
Regards,
Joe

Well as far as i know, it will be attending Farnborough International this year which would be great to see 😀
do you think they will put Virgin stickers on it like they did for the Asia/Australasia tour?

Manchester – 10th June apparently.
But not for a landing…..I’m still trying to find a brown envelope big enough for a decent-sized bung so that it does a fly-by. But then it will be fairly common from around 2008/2009 (if a bit monotonous as only 1 airline will probably send it in on a regular basis).

I couldn’t imagine it flying to other countries at this early stage, as it hasn’t, as far as i know, met any of it’s certifications yet
Good point although it did perform in front of the public at Paris?
Even so, when it does meet CAA conditions I’d imagine Airbus will embark upon a series of promotional visits and flyovers at airports throughout the UK and beyond.

Would be very interesting if that comes off, can’t see it coming though. Just some very hopeful people! 😉
