The new French government that is! 😉

How do you think this would go-down with the voters if a British government made the same decision? It may be a bit of a vote-winning gimmick but you cannot really criticize President Francois Hollande for sticking to this election promise.

Tony, As I stated on another Post. Politicians should lead by example, even a 1% cut, would boost public confidence in them. Most of them are Millionairs anyway.
Coppers are , and don’t believe they are not, well off. When I finished 18yrs ago, my take home pay was £1,200.00. per month TAKE home pay, since then they have had some very good pay rises. When did I last ever see a Copper walking the streets of my town?, I couldn’t even hazard a guess.
When I and others feel safe to walk the streets at night, when the POLICE control crime, and not the Criminals, then I will be 100% behind them.
P.S. Don’t hold your breath though.
Jim.

True, but the point I was making was she was telling them everyone was having to take cuts, however politicians are not…
I must admit, I have absolutely no confidence in the police these days, they are more interested in their interests than anyone else’s and simply forget their primary task is to serve the public, not persecute them.

TonyT. Afternoon Tony. X my heart, but this is true. Last evening at 18.15. I looked out my living room window, at a very large D.I.Y. shop opposite my house. This shop has very large windows. I saw a young lad in school uniform, about 13 or 14 yrs of age, he had with him a young girl who was perhaps two or three years older. My attention was drawn to the fact that both of them were constantly spitting, (Football managers on the side line?.).
The young lad then started kicking the window sill on one of the large windows, and kicked about a foots length off, he then proceeded to smash paving slabs that ran along the frontage of the property.
I phoned the Police, (NEXT DOOR TO ME) and exactly 6 mins later a P.C. walked from the Stn and had words with both the kids. He then grabbed the girl, who struggled, the lad tried to do a runner, but the REAL P.C. managed to collar him.
Now, I am PI***D off, the Police expect us to back them up and be behind them, well, so far, no one has contacted me to tell me of the outcome of the situation and the shopkeeper has not had a visit, but has noticed the Criminal damage.Nice P.R. job, NOT.
Next time, and this is the 2nd time this shop has been a target, the time prior to that was at 02.15 when the window was smashed by a drunk, details given as I was woken up re the noise, but no futher action was taken, as he was an habitual drunk, He only caused two grands worth of damage.next time I see anyone causing damage to any property or whatever, I will look the other way. The Police have lost the publics trust, and I doubt very much if their disgusting behaviour towards the Home Secretary, will help their cause.
I.M.H.O. they acted like a bunch of school kids.

When Terresa May stood up in front of the Police and said that everyone is having to make cuts, pay, pensions etc and not just the Police, i thought Well………YOU POLITICIANS ARE NOT!

What we need is a Guy Fawkes to have a go on a Wednesdays P.M. Question Time.
Seriously, I think if they can’t keep their pre election promises, then they should be given an alloted time to carry them out, or, they are out.
Obviously the current National Debt may take years, but there are plenty of other promises they made that they could have done by now.
T.B.H. I am past caring, as A.P. states, Apathy, and is there any wonder?.

Cabinet ministers receive a salary of £134,565 (including MP’s salary of £65,738). You do the sums 30% off that means the poor dears will have to pocket less than £100,000 not including their allowances. Hardly enough to get drunk in the House of Commons(susidised)bar and have a fight!

cuts
I think if this were to be done in the UK a bit of respect could of been gained. I would rather see performance related pay though as the way they are going at the moment we will never need pay them:D
Could you see Blair and his witch doing that when in Government, not his type
socialism.:D
