I think they might be a bit more advanced than that and are basically autonomous?

Alex Kushleyev, Daniel Mellinger, and Vijay Kumar have advanced the quadrotor’s behavior to the point where they now can carry out some quite complex autonomous swarm behavior.

In this video, 20 nano quadrotors demonstrate movement in multiple formations. Each autonomous quadrotor manages to hold their position in the formation perfectly during movement.

Definitely cool, watched it several times. Do they have twenty different controllers or are they synced to one or two controllers?

Bots

Just think of the fun you could have by putting some lights on them and flying them at night, you’d have the UFO brigade going in to overdrive.:D
Very impressive btw.

That clip’s missing a vital element. The formation really needs to be accompanied by the ride of the valkyries.

Very cleaver, and interesting.
I remember seeing on TV an operation, carried out by a Nano robot, controlled, by a Surgeon and his team from OUTSIDE the Operating Theater, it was to say the very least truly amazing.
They say that advances are made more and quicker every day in the Medical field than any other, and I quite believe it.:)
