In case you missed the story…Princess Beatrice has put the hat that she wore to the Royal Wedding on eBay and the money raised from its sale is going to go to charity (Unicef and Children in Crisis).
Whilst I praise the idea of raising money for charity, who and why on earth would you want to buy such a monstrosity…its hideous.
Any bidders/takers on here?

Ok, so its finally ended…and the winning bid…£81,100.01…some people clearly have more money than sense!
Can’t be too harsh on the buyer though I suppose because at the end of the day the money raised is going to decent charities, but seriously lets hope that whoever has bought it isnt seen wearing it in public!
why is it often said ” more money than sense ” ???
just suppose it is a celebrity etc like simon cowel for instance
i believe if the money is ” gift aided ” for charrity it is tax free
and a nice way to loose money without it being taxable
and not forgetting £ 100,000 is bog roll money to the likes of that level of celebrity
you can guarantee whoever has it they won’t even notice when the money goes out of the account
to make that much money that you don’t worry about spending £100,000 on a hat to help needy kids and loose taxable income you have to have ” more sense than money !! “

The bidding has reached £75,000! Unbelievable!
Perhaps a few of those bidders could bung a thou or two at the Vulcan. After all there would be something to show for it, whereas the value of that monstrous fascinator will be nil after a year or two…….;);)

Given the choice, if I would rather have Barack Obama or the Queen head of state, I think I would prefer the Queen! I am sure so would most Americans!

that was humour !! 🙂 to a degree i don’t think she’s any difrent to a lot of young ladies it is probably the dogs danglies to her generation but looks awful to us !!
can’t say i like the eye makeup thing either , but that’s a generation thing
personaly i love the royals !! ( the options are unthinkable ) i think the price of the royal family to each individual works out at 65 pence per year ( i’d gladly give more to keep it !! )
she auctions a hat to help needy kids and tries to be fashionable and gets slated
if she had dressed and been made up more classicly the cries from the same people would have been ” stuffy royals , they aren’t intrested in us !! “
what do they do ?? seems to me with todays critical lot they are stuck between a rock and a hard place !!
some in recent years have been less than perfect but you can’t tar the kids with the same brush they are now becoming individual adults
zara seems to be a very down to earth atractive young lady and probably better on a horse than her mum !! ( but shhh don’t tell anne that !! ):D
Hear hear! Well said that man.

No, it wasn’t. I have it on good authority – none other than Mrs SH herself – that it was a “fascinator”!! Yes, I know……..don’t ask!

I see nothing in this thread so far that would trouble the moderators so let’s drop the curtain-twitching, shall we?

Come on……admit it….it’s hideous isn’t it !! 😀
to be shure !! 😀 but no more so than a lot of the fashion worn by the younger generation
but having said that from my generation flares and platform heels one wrapped around the legs whilst walking causing trips , the other made balancing perilous
then some genious married the ideas up !!

I think it’s more banter rather than personal attack here, and I certainly don’t see any “Royal Bashing” or criticism going on. Just maybe a wee questionmark over her judgement in wearing the thing in the first place !!
