Love it or hate it, the new livery is here to stay. Not operating in the best conditions (cloud and sub-zero temperatures) but did manage to get these, admittedly poor, shots of the first transatlantic flight of an American owned 77W. I hope to catch it again in all its glory some time in the summer.
Travelling back from 09L along the Northern Perimeter road at around 09:10 you get an idea of the scale of the American Airlines operation at Heathrow. Looking over at T3, I saw 6 or 7 AA jets parked side by side at the gates (not including the 77W which just arrived).

Thanks Tartan, I love the new scheme too. It was one of the newly delivered -300ERs, hence the new livery. Flight 50 from Dallas got the upgrade, I believe LAX and JFK will also be on 77Ws by the summer! 😀

Thanks guys, I’ve heard it’s a hybrid between Cubana and Air France?

Good catch. Murky or not, I still think it looks great.
I do wish they have “painted” one in the bare metal scheme.

Nice pic. That tail still reminds me of Cubana. 😉
