Here we go again.
The international coalition force is planning a ground operation in Libya that could start in late April, a high-ranking Russian intelligence service source said on Friday.

Very much so. The future is now uncertain in Egypt, Bahrain and Syria as well as Libya and as you imply perhaps the eventual new regimes will not be to the West’s liking at all. And then what do we do?

In fairness, there does seem to have been a fair amount of “mission creep”.
Rights and wrongs notwithstanding, we seem to be moving away from establishing and policing a no-fly zone to protect threatened civilians into a situation of being an active belligerent in a civil war.
There seems to be a general assumption that the eventual winners will turn out to be to the West’s liking.
Let’s hope it isn’t another assumption that comes back to bite us.

Why should we give this story any credence whatsoever other than as predictable political point scoring?
I agree with that. They’re still miffed from the passing of UN resolution 1973. Rather nostalgic to see the Russians still up to their old ‘cold war’ antagonism towards the west..
