Caught me off guard..sprayed my coffee πŸ˜€

Dunno whay you laugh.
Tommy was a member of the innermost sanctum of the Magic Circle, he was one of the very best magicians around! He disgiused a lot of skill because of his delivery.
All that clowning was of course just part of the whole class of the man. The best.

Nice ones from both of you, it’s a good job I didn’t have a mouthful of tea when I read those.

So, have you figured out how this one was done? No, then he succeeded in baffling you as well, and that was his aim.

No and more to the point I’m not interested. As I said earlier magicians just aren’t my cup of tea. I agree that trick is baffling but is as far as my interest goes, no way I’m likely to watch the clip again or even try to figure out how it’s done.

First trick
1) Put three coins in the tray and show to the host.
2) Take one coin out and put on table.
3) Take tray with two keys and put under the table. While doing so slip in a 3rd coin. (so one coin on table and three in tray)
4) Bang the tray against the table. One coin will stick to the magnetic ring.
5) Show tray (still under the table) with 2 coins.
6) Raise hand. The coin under the table drops into the tray. The coin above the table still on the magnetic ring.
7) Show tray above table while in the meantime getting rid of the coin on your ring. Should be easy for a magician since everyone will be focussed on the tray.

second trick (3:00)
Note how the two coins on the right are attached to eachother. When the magician banged the table these probably slid together with a small spring or something. Show a “4th” coin hidden under the table or in the magician’s palm and you got the answer.

He’s got me baffled on the third one though!

How? More to the point why? Sorry, magicians just don’t impress me as there are so many of their tricks that are not as clever as they would have us believe. Sometimes they are so simple that even the average person in the street can figure out how they are done.

We all “Know” it is a trick. We all know the glass cannot be penetrated.
The beauty is the skill of the deception. Yes, the home-made magicians kit will often look rubbish and is easy to figure out. In this clip, we can see that the wooden rim of his table is an outrageous 4 inches thick (Deep) Why? We dunno, but somewhere in there is the secret.
The coins appear stuck together at some point, but again we don’t see the slight of hand, and that is the beauty.

The quality of the deception is everything, like the timing to a punch line….it can make a bad joke funny.
