One for the military vehicle specialists

I took these pictures a couple of years ago and am wondering what the types of vehicles are. I know the vehicles in pictures 1 & 2 are Jeep but are they a specific variant ?

I’d say the right one is an original Willys MB (Ford GPW has a square beam under the radiator), the middle one a French Hotchkiss (number plates, hood), and the right vehicle a Daimler Dingo.

Broadly speaking, American WWII Jeeps are either GPWs (made by Ford) or MBs made by Willys.
Though not identical, all parts interchanged. Many Ford vehicles had the “Ford” script logo on them…until the Army told them to stop.

The ones you show are standard models, I don’t see anything on them that would earn them a sub-designation for special purpose modifications.

In Europe you have to be on the lookout for French-made examples made by Hotchkiss. I’m not sure you can tell them from US-built examples at a distance.

the scout car is a daimler dingo ! matchbox had a kit of it in thier range it was packaged in the ” montys caravan ” set

jeeps as far as i’m aware were pretty much all a standard build to a specification and altered afterwards for specific needs !!

but i’d imagine some would have been altered at the factory for needs
