What’s the matter with the good old Travellers Cheques ?.

Do not go anywhere near travellers cheques.
I used them as I was informed of places where cashing them carried no charges. So I accepted the slightly worse exchange rate. However the places that Cashed them stopped doing so (sadly only a few weeks before I bought them and nobody updated websites) so I struggled to find anywhere that would cash them, and all charged.

I hasten to add that La poste failed to tell me that they no longer cashed them, until about the 5th branch I visited previously I was told to go to a different branch. La Poste is not renowned for its helpfulness.

It seems not many people can be bothered with travellers cheques anymore.
