Outdated and sexist by Mr Grey et al ? Blatant sexism, harmless fun, sign of the times….?
any views out there ?
Personally, the “private comments” view won’t wash with me, and while I am prone to the odd non PC comment myself, I think these were all steps too far.

I’m all for mixed sex sports so long as we can all share the same shower afterwards. Hey you can’t have it both ways 😀

then comes the privacy dilema !!
wich way do people want it ???
it is horredously wrong to tap celebrity mobile phones
but perfectly ok to use a private conversation between two people because it was from a microphone switched on !!
how much was a certain individual paid to make sure it was left on ???
double standards does one think ??
to be fair the idividual concerned has been sexist before and the behaviour he displayed towards some women was unacceptable
but the way they were entrapped was just as unacceptable
you cannot have one standard for one and another for another !!

Not a massive football fan,but i still don’t understand why women don’t play in the professional league clubs along side of men.Surly there must be some that match the fitness, skill and stamina of present players.
They play tennis with men and are paid more.
May be not boxing, but as a yorkshireman i know a few that would take on the best.
wrestling would be good.:diablo:
put bluntly t*ts !!! no matter how you dress it up that there isn’t any difrence you are only ever defying nature
the idea of men alongside women in mixed games is both horredous and laughable
men will always be men and women will always be women and should be sepperated in sports like this
whilst there is no denying some women can be better sometimes
there will always be the sex issue , pending harrasment cases , possible sexual assault cases , sexism cases , and that is even before you get to male players probably being more wary of tackling hard because they don’t want to hurt the girl
then top it off with nerves about shirt pulling
although to be fair end of international games should prove more intresting !!

They only play in mixed doubles, professionally. There have been a few “Battle of the Sexes” matches which the men have usually won, despite being handicapped.

I’m playing devil’s advocate a bit I know but the point I was trying to make is that surely it doesn’t matter whether sexist comments are made about specific individuals or a gender in general; it is still sexism isn’t it?
By: Grey Area - 27th January 2011 at 23:08
I’m not sure what point – if any – you’re trying to make here, to be honest.
By: Creaking Door - 27th January 2011 at 23:06
That shouldn’t make any difference, should it? Would Bernard Manning’s act have been acceptable if he didn’t name names? Would he win a major TV award in 2010? Somehow I doubt it.

I agree; level playing field for all (see my Loose Women rant). 😉
The difference being, I suppose, that Messrs Gray and Keys’ remarks were made about specific identifiable individuals, whereas the programme you mention indulges in non-specific ranting about men in general.

Says it all, really, doesn’t it? Brilliant.:D

To be honest, regardless of whether or not these guys are TV sports pundits, they crossed a line and got their arses chewed out for it. Binned or resigned, they did it, so they pay for it.
It happens in the general workplace, so why should Sky Sports be any different?
