2010 – how was it for you ?

With the end of the year in sight, would anyone like to share their highs and lows of the past twelve months, either public or personal ?
I can’t wait for 2011,mainly because it can’t possibly be any worse than this year.

Hmm.
Home life is pleasantly constant.

Work, well the worst year of my 35 years in work. No pay rise yet our profit is up greatly – tired old excuse of the “Global recession”. I’ve worked a total of 14 “Ghosters” in 2010 (Where I worked all night after Dinner and gone to work afterwards at 7am). Such is the understaffing policy. And I don’t get paid overtime of course. They don’t assist employess in any way whatsoever “If you don’t like it then feck-off” being the prime attitude. We can’t do so, being stuck on an Island. Worst employer ever, I’ve worked for 6 major employers and learned about hundreds.
I’ve been in this job 4 years and have been digging the escape tunnel for 3 of them. Job offers don’t come towards old gits. It was too late to change my mind after a year, having moved off the mainland etc.
Hopefully 2011 will see me get another job, and hopefully I can hand in my 4 weeks notice…less holidays and be gone in a week. Whenever I’ve left previous employers I have gon out of my way to ensure a good handover, I’ve even been available to be contacted afterwards. “Never burn a bridge”. When I leave this place, they can rot and burn. I will only assist a few people that I value there. In fact, there is a potential Court case between them and an aeroplane OEM. If I’ve left I’d join the other team for a fee, and join this employers team for a higher fee.
“Find a job you love and you’ll never do a days work in your life” is SO SO SO SO true.
Stuck in a job you hate is possibly as bad as being stuck in a marriage you hate. Maybe worse, there’s more partners out there than jobs!

There, vitriole vented!
Happy Buddhamas, or whatever it is theis year.

High points of the year-Meditteranean cruise and the arrival of our Jack Russell, Jake. Low points- none really. Been a good year.

The Harrier is going, that’s bad, very bad.

Illustration work is looking good for the next year and picking back up well at the end of this year. Thanks to all those who’ve helped or put me in touch with people, you know who you are.

let me think…………

Wife told me she wanted “out” on Jan 3rd which was painful.

The she stayed until Sept 1st which was excruciating.

Waited better part of 6 months not at risk but awaiting possible “outsource” at work”..

saw the kids with broken hearts with what me and their mum did to them….:(

I’ll setttle for a new year !;)

I did however, meet two heroes of mine, “Winkle” Brown and Rikki Villa (ex Spurs player), I see far more of the kids than I did before, and they are both showing no signs (at least so far) of any problems at school….:D

But yes, not my best ever year by far…..
