Stop winding him up.
He thumps Bass for his mortgage, what’s he gonna do…turn down work?
Sometimes, one has to download an alternative set of standards / principles /
morals to earn a crust. Money wins and absolute money wins absolutely.

I was getting paid to stand behind my mixing desk that night, Kabir. I was getting paid. 😉
Same for a Mr G. Gates was it Paul?:D

wey nar, turiasas are battle metal lol
i can think of a load of great bands too
Next time I see them, I may do my face in the Black Red. I don’t own a leather skirt or other Viking like attributes. Not even a dimple on the chin and one eye (Your too young to know this 🙂 )
By: Sky High - 23rd November 2010 at 08:38
That’s how I would imagine they would be from the recordings. They are certainly like no other band I know.:)
By: cloud_9 - 23rd November 2010 at 00:17
What are Sigur Ros like live?
Bit difficult to describe really, but just brillant at what they do.
Very much “Sit down and enjoy the quality” as PeeDee suggests.:)

Chap at work is barmy on them, and the singist Jonsi.
I think they are “Sit down and enjoy the quality” rather than head-banging, foot-stompin, sweat-spreadin, thrashin.
I’ve just listened to some Alexisonfire. Grunge…..I can’t do grunge. Even though Turisas are a sort of “SingalongaGrunge” in some tracks. I like them, they are a good live band.

A few to mention, am sure there are plenty more that I have missed though:
Mew
Sigur Ros
Editors
The Boxer Rebellion
The Feeling
The Script
Local Natives
Sneaky Sound System
U2
…and Chris de Burgh (:o, but this was my first ever live concert I went to!)
Can’t wait until December as I am seeing Arcade Fire (1st) and Faithless (11th), both at The O2 in London.
Will be my second time this same year seeing Faithless as I saw them a few months back at Brixton Academy…just watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1sxd3Z9lvc, and see how the crowd are at 2:45…love it!

lol…i may well be PeeDee, maiden played a great gig both times ive saw them
i wanna see dead by sunrise, chester bennington is rather an idol, i preffer his oldest band though, Grey Daze, check them out 🙂
By: PeeDee - 22nd November 2010 at 03:39
out of curiosity…at such gigs, what would you do once the sound is running smoothly (if it is)
LoL!! Yeah, I’ve seen them, looking busy with headphones, holding one side pretending to check something. 🙂
No, I know they earn their millions.
Notes change frequently, temperature of the geetars is just one of the things monitored I presume. There is rather a lot of stuff in the mixpit.

oz i am jealous of the fact you have saw daughtry and pendulum 🙁
im also successfully deaf after being right up front at the alexisonfire gig tonight 😀
Are you my Stalker?
I’m on the same sort of list as you. Plus Pendulum (Sonisphere this year).
Daughtry, excellent – although his new album is not as good as the first IMO.
RAMMSTEIN of course, the best live band ever, even better than the Irons or Early Alice. And it isn’t just for the pyros, the music is fantastic and Tills voice is incredible.
My list starts in 1973. I saw all the glam rock stuff, even Glitter! Even Osmonds and David Cassidy! Even David Essex (Actually he went off for 30 mins break and the session men laid into some rockin which was excellent!) Sheesh, the things you do to date chicks!
If one includes festivals then I must have seen 200+ bands. I even went to the Mandella concert for the music, I wasn’t bothered for the release of a bomb planting political terrorist.
Regrets not seen…The Who, T.Rex. Chicago. Queen, never really liked them but now he’s dead I’d wish I’d done it for the experience. Santana. Ian Dury.
Avoided….U2. They’ve never bettered Under a blood red sky. Coldplay, because they are utter rubbish.
I’ve also been to a few classics, The Halle doing the Planets for example. A few Ballets too, with Orchestra – not tape deck/CD. The Royal Marines band.
In 2011 I want to see David Byrne, having seen Talking Heads in 1982 it’s about time I saw this very underated singer/writer again. Hoping that Wall Street 2 has encouraged him to tour. Hope to See Ramm again, but I think they are in Sth America most of the year. Paramore, even though they are a bit of a popcorn band. May see the Irons but I can’t afford a ticket so close to Christmas – prolly sold out by now. Dead by Sunrise – Chester wotsisname from Linkin Park.

Thelonius Monk
Miles Davis x2
….you are extremely lucky Regal. 🙂
By: Mark Hazard - 21st November 2010 at 23:29
The Beatles
I’m jealous. Although I have seen one of them, and not many others:
Brindsley Schwartz (not sure if that’s spelt correctly) – once, who were the warm up for
Paul McCartney (and Wings) – three times
Suzi Quatro – three times
other RAK artists on the RAK Roadshow, including said Suzi Q, Mud, Cozy Powell, can’t remember who else was there, it was almost 40 years ago.

The Beatles
Sammy Davis Jr
Frank Sinatra
Robert Goulet
Andy Williams
Engelbert Humperdinck
