Hi everyone 🙂
I saw some interest in MXP traffic, so, in this post, I will some of the biggest planes that populate Milan’s main airport.
Let’s start with something really special that went to visit us in late April.
The Antonov 225 Myria. It arrived on 35R (the worst one in the afternoon for spotting) and then, it used the 35L to taxi to the de-icing area, the only parking position big enough to accommodate this monster.
Then, let’s start with scheduled ones.
JetAirways have one flight a day (DEL-MXP). It arrives around 18:00LT
Korean Air is the only scheduled 747 PAX you can see here (ICN-MXP). It operate on those days: 3 5 7 (1 = Monday). It arrives after the JetAirways (18:20LT).
The Biman Airline open in MXP recently. Sadly, they promise to came here only with their new 777s, and not with their wonderful DC-10s.
The flight (FCO-MXP-DAC) is operated only on Friday, and arrives at 17:00 (80% of times is late)
Qatar is a frequently visitor of MXP, with his 2 destinations:
DOH-MXP – 3 flights: QR35, QR33, QR37
NCE-MXP – 1 flight: QR36
It mainly operates with A330, but also A320 is used.
Delta came with daily flight to JFK and a flight to ATL operated on: 1 3 4 6 7
AA: JFK-MXP, Operated on 1 2 3 5 7
Alitalia is rare to see here both with an A320 or a bigger one.
They have flights to JFK (daily) and NRT (1 2 4 6) operated with A330 and 777
Etihad operate daily to AUH
Srilankan : CMB-MXP on 3 5 7, with A340
Emirates is dominating the big category here in MXP, with 3 different flight to DXB, all of them operated daily, with a sleeping aircraft always at the airport.
It arrive with A340 and 777s.
Obviously, I didn’t mentioned all the heavy aircraft operators here in MXP, but the most of them.
I didn’t mentioned any cargo operator, because they are more than the passengers one, and, I don’t have much pictures of them.
FedEx and Cargolux, are the dominating cargo company here.
I hope you like my photos, and you liked my little description.

I don’t know, I don’t follow it, as it is a boring airport 😀

Thanks everyone! 🙂
@MSR777 uh, sure they have them, 5 operative and 4 to cannibalize. But the flight to malpensa was published with “we use our brand new 777”.
That’s sad for spotters, but for normal passengers is much better 😀

Brilliant shots. I’ll say it again, a marvellous airport.

Great 🙂

Yes, I agree with you there. I’ve always preferred the DC10 to the Tristar. I think that Biman still fly them to the Gulf states, but maybe that’s not so now.

I like it too, but, you know, a DC-10 would be different!! 😀
