Maiden, Frontier, WOW

Iron Maiden’s new album “The Final Frontier”.
the first 4 mins take a bit of getting used to but then we are into pure Rock magic.
“Isle of Avalon” is 9 minutes of genius. Not only the inevitable and excellent storytelling by Bruce, but the instrumentation and solo’s are fabulous.

And now Ladies and Gents..you really must listen to Santana “Guitar Heaven”. Oh, it certainly is.
All cover versions, special guests singing. Some are better than the original, dare I say.

Hi Graham. I would have thought Glenn Miller was more your era. 😀

Oh, you shouldn’t assume anything about people’s musical taste from their age.

On my iPod tracks from Biffy Clyro sit alongside Clannad and the most recent Green Day and Manic Street Preachers albums jostle for attention with Woody Herman and Ted Heath (not the ex-Prime Minister).

Chuck in most of the Steely Dan albums and quite a lot of Rush, and you’ve got a fairly eclectic mixture.

All of my classical stuff is on CD, by the way. 🙂

I shall have to get my paws on Mr Dickinson and friends’ latest. Saw them touring Dance of Death, easily one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to
