There has been talks of a Combined Defence Force over the years, on the news today the government are now considering to do this to save money.
They are looking to cut the three services a further 10 – 20 percent.
What is safe and what is not?
Will we lose the two aircraft carriers, F35, Nimrod Mk4, Trident replacement, etc.?
How many more airbases will close?
Is the country that bankrupt??

A thought
Absorb the RAF into the Navy – standardise on a single fighter bomber for the FAA – some squadrons trained in carrier ops, others land based in the UK.
Single supply chain, training, weapons.

Broadcast at 9 a.m.,repeated at 9 30 p.m. the same day.

Probably best if we don’t go to the supermarkets.
Dig for victory, eat lots of rabbits and pigeon, buy your clothes from Oxfam.
Sorted

Caning. 😀
Grammar test every Friday. Any apostrophe fail will incur a severe flogging. Increasing number of strokes, say 10 x age so it hurts more as they get older and theoretically wiser
Responsible teacher flogged also for their failings.
Consider capital punishment once 18 is reached.
Next?

We need the carriers for projection of force overseas, some other boats to protect them, a handful of hunter killer subs, some brown jobs to go and do the fighting and a capable carrier-usable fighter bomber with nuclear capability for deterrence.
Ditch the rest.
[Grudgingly] We’d better have some eggbeaters too 🙁

Its been a combined service in all but name for years.
Most stuff is “Tri-Service” or “Joint Services” wherever you look. While part of me likes the traditional aspect of it all, if it works out they can get a saving by bringing it all under one banner yet not cut back on already stretched resorces for the troops then I’m with it all the way.
I wasn’t a great supporter of the coalition government; but at least they seem to be telling it straight. Unfortunately, it seems to be that the country is more screwed financially than we all got told a few months ago.
Regards,
Rich
