Hi all members here!!
Just wanted to introduce myself and tell you just a little bit about me and my aviation interests.
I am 47 years old, have been strongly interested in aviation since I was about 7-8 years old. I worked airside at Adelaide Airport as a trainee linesman as a temporary staff member during 1984-85. I was lucky to get a job as a Catering truck driver (hi-lift) scissor lift driver in early 86 with Ansett Airlines, doing catering on a variety of different aircraft types up until the collapse of Ansett Australia in Sept, 2001. I was able to get some part time work at the airport after the Ansett demise, then got a job with Alpha flight services as a catering truck driver doing catering om Malaysia Airlines 747-400 and mostly 777-200 aircraft. I have a nice collection of models, about 500, most are in 400 scale and quite a few other scales as well. I also enjoy aviation photography and still go spotting occasionally. I left the airline catering industry after a fued with management over being on salary and working excessive extra hours per week and not getting paid for it, nor getting time off in lieu of the 50 plus hours a week I was doing some/most weeks.
I live in the coastal suburb of Henley Beach, About 8-9 kilometers from the Adelaide town centre. SOUTH AUSTRALIA
I am active on a number of other forums, 400 scale hangar (nearly 11,000 posts). DAC, Scale aircraft forum, Wings 900, Airline Buzz and Sydney airport message board. My other interest is collecting model earthmovers.
Anyway, thats just a little bit about me and I look forward to contributing here on a regular basis. Steve K:)

Hi Steve and welcome.
The rule here is not to quote in full the post you are responding too, particularly when it is directly above your response.
Some of the old hands do forget this from time to time.
I hope you enjoy it here

Hello and welcome, Steve! As one of the forum’s resident photography geeks and someone who has quite a soft spot for older scanned photos I’m looking forward to seeing a few of yours from down under! 🙂

Hi mate and thanks for the welcome, if you would like to, PM me youre email address and I can send a few (LOT) your way as im hopeless at up loading onto forums, have quite a few aussie DC9, 727, Viscount, Electra and many others and are still scanning more and more each day, some are real beauties, Many came from other people so im not sure who to thank for many of them, but certainly a good number of mine are in the mix as well. I suspect many were slides done onto print but they look pretty reasonable anyway. 🙂

Well, maybe he needs no encouragement to stay with the forum but I thought I would give him a general hint that it’s a good place to hang out if you are in any way aviation minded. I certainly have no regrets about my time on here even if I don’t always agree with everyones point of view.

Welcome to the madhouse, hope you enjoy your time here. There is a wealth of information scattered among our forumites and they are always willing to answer questions no matter how stupid they may seem to you. Just have the courage to ask, the answer is usually forthcoming in a matter of a few hours-sometimes minutes.

Hi Steve, Welcome to the Forum, nice to see a member disclosing his location, too many seem to think it is a state secret. We look forward to your contributions, got any photos? 🙂
