Dear All,
I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who supported the Today’s Pilot Fly-In at Tollerton on Sunday.
Obviously aided by the fabulous weather we saw an incredible turn out of aircraft ranging from flexwing microlights and an autogyro through to a Harvard, Skeeter, T-28 and a Beech 18.
The turn out of US Classics was good with large numbers of Aeroncas and Vintage Pipers and Cessnas joined by Luscombes, Taylorcrafts, a Waco, Stearman, Bell 47 and an Argus.
Although not everybody booked in the tower estimates that we had around 230 visiting aeroplanes so thank you all. Thanks also to those who drove in (Futureshox, Steve Beebee etc) it was good to see you all there – if you’d like to post some photos I for one would love to see them.
The Saturday night party also seemed to go down well so this is something we plan to repeat in 2005. But please don’t post any photographs from the party guys ;o)
The event raised welcome funds for the Breast Cancer Awareness charity (exact figure TBC) so thank you to everybody who donated their landing fees to this good cause.
So now the planning begins for 2005 – I’ll publish the date as soon as it is finalised.
Once again THANKS to those who flew in, THANKS to those who drove in, and THANKS to those who gave their time to help run the event. We couldn’t have done it without you all.
Best wishes
Steve
