I’m of two minds about the guy.

Yes, he did what he thought was right.
But…
he betrayed is position by leaking confidential information he was privy to. And then didn’t admit it (even when asked) until he wanted money for his grandkids.

Why is that good in the case of Watergate and bad when the same principals are applied to a different situation?
In a war he’d be guilty of treason and up for being shot.:rolleyes:

We don’t want civil servants or military people doing the old “I was just following orders” excuse and turning a blind eye to wrong doing…
But…
at the same time we can’t have every lieutenant second guessing Eisenhower.
If we wait for a concensus, we’d still be waiting for D-Day.
