Is that a very short, very narrow cross runway?
Moggy
Has been used as such, but mainly taxiway to the hangar.

Here’s a look at Monewden, taken late June this year:

I’ve been flying from Monewden since April, having moved up from Stapleford & Earls Colne . I still can’t find the place, half the time, and end up finding Debach first and going in from there!

Unfortunately it is , ****ing rain , NO aeroplanes ( unless you the self loading cargo aluminium tuge type ) and the forecast is more bloody rain.

I once decided to cycle from John O’Groats to Lands End and, as even a sketchy knowledge of geography will inform you, this meant passing that bit.
That day it rained and it rained and it rained. I was soaked from head to foot after the first ten minutes and had about eighty miles to complete.
Got separated from all the others. Just kept stamping on the pedals and counting each revolution whilst swearing at the world in general and the weather in particular at the top of my voice.
Arrived at the overnight camp site eventually and threw my bike into a hedge.
Horrid. (I’m sure it’s not like that all the time 😉 )

Got it !! , eventually . Amazing how many small airstrips you chaps have down there , unfortunately I live almost halfway between Edinburgh and Glasgow so air traffic rules out any local GA strips – although a farmer up near East Calder has applied for permission to build a strip/hangar on his land – Kirknewton is local but is still controlled by the RAF so that’s that ruled out .
I’ve just been looking through some of the older posts and read the one where you described pulling the Piper out of the hangar in the early morning then setting off for a bumble around the place – sounds absolutely perfect .

Look for the CMATZ around Lakenheath, Mildenhall and Honington.
Look for the eastern stub off Honington.
See it now?
You are welcome any time. PM me for a brief. Ground handling is by MoggyAir and is compulsory.

Moggy , I’ve just read another thread regarding the location of Knettishall , I have the half mill here and still can’t find it – any hints ?? , who do we call for permission – I’m sure we can haggle with yourself with a few bottles of a decent Malt Whisky for permission 🙂 .
I would’nt mind helping with the work party – that is a very looking aeroplane . Classic , practical and absolutely gorgeous – what else can you ask for – you are a fortunate man indeed !!!!:)

I’ve only been by road, not entirely level and from memory about 800 yards, has a poor old Harvard that lives outside. We were due to fly in there last year, maybe we will give it a go in 04.
