Would these be suitable for general spotting at airports?
I’d prefer a lightweight small pair if not, and can’t really go much above this price.

I would say no. 18 is a good enough mag. but 21mm lens is going to fail you as soon as it gets a bit cloudy. Are they recommended on a Bird Watchers site? This is a good sign to pick out bins that have a quality enough to show a lot of detail.
And, they look like the £4.99 ones from the garage.
