During the first weekend in August every year, the Icelandic Aero Club organizes a Fly-In at a place called Mรบlakot on the south coast of Iceland. This summer we were blessed with really good weather for the weekend (last six years have rained away) and we had a record attendance with about fourty aircraft on saturday. A thouroghly good time was had by everyone, with lots of flying taking place during the day with a good BBQ and a song or two around the bonefire during the night!!
The attendance is mostly made up of general aviation types, like Cessnas and Pipers, with the occational oddball thrown in for good measure. This years oddballs came in the form of a KZ IV TF-JON and a Dornier Do27 TF-LDS.
To take a closer look at the how it was during the weekend, take a look at the following homepage. It has lots of photos, but the down side is the fact that it is completely lacking any captions to go with the photos. These are not my pictures, but I hope the photographer does not mind this use of his homepage!

And a great job you did of it, Galdri! Nice to see when KZ’s are taken good care of. I have been a member of the Danish KZ & Vintage Aircraft Club for more than 15 years, visited the fly-in in Stauning several times and have flown as a passenger in KZ-VII OY-DSB and KZ-III OY-DKO, so I have a soft spot for them… ๐

Thanks for the link; very interesting pictures ๐

TF-JON is a KZ-VII though – and very beautifully restored it is too! The KZ-IV is a light twin; only two were built and both are still in Denmark ๐

Looks like a lot of fun! You have some wonderful landscape to fly over there, too.
