Ryanair decrese frequency on MME-CIA

Seems that the flights between the airport known as Durham Tees Valley, which used to be known as Teesside Airport 😉 , and Rome Ciampino, served by Ryanair will decrease frequncy to 3 x weekly for the winter

Apparently 4 new bases for FR to be announced next month (August)

FR seem to want to snatch the competition from quite a few EZY bases. NCL, BRS and LPL! 😀

And with the new route from NCL – Oslo being announced I think this adds fuel to the speculation that NCL is most likely to become a base though NCL have a lot of work to do before next summer if this is the case.

If FR do base even 2 aircraft in summer 06, with the charter flights, the additional rumoured EZY aircraft and an overnight VLM plane (also rumoured to be doing a NCL – LCY route) we will have no overnight stands left at all! This would also mean there could be no charter expansion for next summer.

Hopefully this has all been thought through and NCL will surprise us with new stands being built fairly quickly.

Can be due to a temporary lack of planes .

Very disappointing, though not surprising.

I’m not optimistic now about FR opening a base on Teesside.

Yes but don’t forget that EZY do NCL-CIA in competition to FR MME-BGY whereas FR’s NCL-BGY has a free run

Seems the NCL-BGY flight is now performing very well. Although it could be better

Suppose its to be expected in winter from a smaller regional airport, although the Milan flight from Newcastle (Which apparantly is performing poorly, dont know whether thats true or not), is still daily in the winter.
