I’ve read of other animals, particularly elephants, showing grief or mourning the death of a fellow, but have never seen pics. Very moving, indeed.

Made more so by low-life A A Gill and his shooting of a baboon recently to see what it felt like.

Gill wrote: “I took him just below the armpit. He slumped and slid sideways. I’m told they can be tricky to shoot: they run up trees, hang on for grim life. They die hard, baboons. But not this one. A soft-nosed .357 blew his lungs out.”
