You may have heard that there was a robbery recently from a Stockholm cash depot in which possibly several million Swedish kronor were stolen. The robbery was facilitated by using a helicopter, which the Swedish Defence Forces have now admitted tracking on radar. However since the police did not ask for military assistance and they were unable to fly their own helicopters due to a fake bomb at the tent(!) where the police helicopters are based, the robbery helicopter got away.
Red faces all round, and what is worse, this bodes ill for attempted terrorist acts with aviation involved!

Some arrests have been made, but not apparently of any of the estimated 10 who carried out the coup. The helicapter had been stolen from Norrtälje and was discovered north of Stockolm several hours after; police had arrived at the scene while the robbery was in progress but could not get up to the roof before it had departed. Definitely the makings of at least a Discovery Channel or National Geographic documentary here!

Be very careful on the Beautiful blonds bit. The two that were sent over on Grippen some years back looked a bit like Soviet Shot-putters.

Thanks, Newforest, I am still around but mostly lurking these days.
Regarding books, since I spend all day writing (translating from Swedish) I just don’t have any inclination to write in the limited amount of spare time available to me!
You are, however, quite right, there probably is a book in this story, although the amount of embarrassment caused would probably prevent publication under the Swedish Secrets Act!
The police have now hurriedly been given permission to station their helicopters on a (hopefully secure) military base nearby, which is where they were originally until they were kicked out some time ago. The plot thickens!
