Thomsonfly routes for the winter..

Thomsonfly.com Adds Routes To The Canaries
30.06.2005

Low fares airline Thomsonfly.com has announced flight services to the Canary Islands as part of its winter flight schedule that goes on sale today. In addition the airline will operate low fares ski flights from all three UK airports for the winter season. These new flights are part of the winter flights programme to city, leisure, ski and winter sun destinations which start at £17.99 for a one way flight including taxes and charges.

Thomsonfly.com will operate flights Tenerife from Bournemouth and Doncaster and Gran Canaria from Doncaster. Ski flights to Salzburg from Bournemouth and Coventry, and to Lyon from Doncaster, Coventry and Bournemouth, that have also gone on sale today, are expected to be very popular with passengers.

Guy Stephenson, Commercial Director of Thomsonfly.com, said, “We are delighted to be able to offer the Canary Islands. We have had many requests from our customers for destinations in the Canaries – both those wanting easier access to their second homes abroad and travellers wanting to escape the cold British climate.”

These routes will not only attract people wanting to travel from the UK – but will also make it easier for people living in the Canary Islands and ex-pats to return home to the UK to visit friends and relatives.

The winter flight schedule also includes flights to Paris, Amsterdam, Alicante, Malaga, Faro, Valencia, Prague, Barcelona and Jersey. The new flights commence from October onwards. As the October flights are now on sale families can plan their travel for the Autumn school half term break. With the winter programme now on sale travellers can now book flights through to next April.

Guy continued, “The new destinations mean that our customers have a great choice of holiday, short break and business destinations to choose from – this will also attract new people to try our services and bring more people into the areas from overseas.”

Thomsonfly.com operated a winter flight programme from Coventry Airport last winter however for winter 2005/ 2006 the airline’s new bases, Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield and Bournemouth Airport, will also benefit from these services.

This winter the Paris flights will operate to Paris Orly Airport, instead of Charles de Gaulle. Orly Airport is close to the city centre and therefore only a short journey and a fast connection into the heart of Paris. Travellers have the opportunity to connect on from Orly to a great range of destinations. The Amsterdam flight also provides travellers from the region with the flexibility to be able to travel on to destinations the world over.

Thomsonfly.com offers customers allocated seating on every flight, an inflight refreshment service, pre-bookable seats and a high standard of customer service. Flights can be booked here online or by calling 0870 1900 737.

The Canaries seem to be getting more popular with the locos, wouldnt be surprised to see Jet2 start more Canaries services in addition to Tenerife.

Interesting that they are swapping from CDG to Orly, Dublin has been replaces by Amsterdam at DSA (Expected with Ryanair operating DUB), and Alicante is new from BOH, as is Lyon from all 3 airports.

I was thinking, (Dont know if its correct or not…), maybe they have some sort of deal with Corsair, with both been in the tui group and all?

Just a wild idea by me!

How have they got slots at Orly? They are meant to be quite hard to get if you are not French

Bad news for Dublin indeed. They are handled by Servisair here in Dublin so the chances of a winter contract for me are reduce a litte. Damn Ryanair lol.

Terminal 2B that British Airways use is a disgrace. Hardly any shops, seats are in poor condition, one dirty cafe at the end which doesn’t even look safe to eat in.

Its weird that they have switched to Orly, I suppose its better for passengers then the dump that is CDG.

Cheaper for the airline no doubt, so they get a few extra pounds as a result of the change, but I have to agree about CDG being a dump. Terminal 1 especially is so dated now, it needs transforming on both on the outside and the inside.
