Ashes 2009

Can’t believe no thread on the Ashes yet!

So England is 1-0 up in the series, what are the predictions folks?

And Flintoff did well for a guy who’s body is supposed to be falling apart? 😎

I predicted 1-1 for the convicts to retain the ashes mainly down to our weather! I’m half way there! I know Brett Lee being injured is good for England, but I love watching him bowl. He enjoys every second of it. The mans exciting to watch, just a pity we will have to wait a bit longer.

I thought the second test was one of the best I have ever seen.
Thought Strauss had blown it with not inforcuing the follow on , but I was proved wrong.
Thought he was a bit to late with the declaration 526 was far to much to give them.
Flintoff was our star bowler , can out pumped up and wanting to take wickets ,which he did .
In fact the first hour all the bowling was tight and on line, but Clark was up to it ,untill he was out they had a chance .
Still dont feel that Strauss is the right capt for us,he still made a few mistakes.
SKY Sports is reporting that KP and Flintoff and poss not going to make the 3rd test which will be a massive blow for us.
Will settle for 3 draws now and take back the Ashes , but I think the Aussie’s may win the next one , even more so poss wth out Flintoff and KP ,but the 4th will be ours and 5th drawn.

I thought 2-1 England before the series and I still feel the same now. Australia’s bowling looks very average when Johnson isn’t bowling well. Still, England rarely help themselves on the cricket field so it’ll be very close throughout the series. Historically England play well at Edgbaston and I feel a win there would probably be enough to bring The Ashes back home!

As regards Flintoff, no words can describe how awesome he was in this game!
