A very grey morning, and I only bothered to go down to the airport to see the new terminal in action.
Whilst waiting for the Aer Arann, to my surprise one of the three Avia Nova A320s pushed back in front of me, started up its engines and departed to Bergen. Here’s the result, on a less than perfect morning weather wise.

I have no idea why or what is happening to it in Bergen, never known for an aircraft to go there from SEN.
And finally, I mustn’t forget to post a photo of the the star movement, the Aer Arann ATR42 which landed minutes after the boring Airbus departed. This ATR had the privilege of being the only flight to use the swanky new £10 million passenger terminal today

As always, I hope these are of interest!

Thanks for all of your comments Clupano, EGTC and Short finals.
Avia Nova went bust in October, and EI-ELE spent some time in store in Dublin before positioning to Southend around 3 weeks ago. I assume its at Woensdrecht Air base neat Bergen in the Netherlands for further storage.
The maintenance companies brings some fantastic movements to Southend. There’s been far too many Airbuses this year. Fellow SEN spotters are moaning that there hasn’t been a 727 movement in almost 3 months! Lasham got M-STAR and a 732 last week!
All is change at Southend with the runway extension scheduled to open on Thursday!

Excellent stuff – this and the Izair. Could be in Instanbul or at Domodedovo !

Lucky catch. I’ve never even heard of that airline.

Woensdrecht (near Bergen op Zoom) is primarily a military base but Fokker services there has maintenance/storage facilities.
