FlyDubai's latest

Popped down to GLA yesterday as the 25th FlyDubai 737 was actually due at a decent time and not the usual early weekday morning malarky. Back of 11 on a Saturday is much more civilised.

Here’s A6-FDY landing on runway 23.

Next to land was big cousin the Emirates 777-300 on the daily schedule.

The 737 on stand.

… and last chance for sunny shots, seconds before the sky chucked hailstones at us.

Beautiful plumage.

Poor quality can be blamed on Photobucket and their primitive filesize limits.

This latest FlyDubai. A6-FDY, was delivered on 13th and left Seattle at 02:40 on 18th. Normally they depart earlier and arrive GLA very early (arriving about 06-07:00) but in this case it was good. So that’s, say, 4 or 5 days from being handed over until doing the delivery flight.

http://boeing-test-flights.blogspot.com/ seems to be a good site to keep up to date with Boeing happenings like test flights, hand overs and stuff. It’s a good start.

Use that along with actual delivery flight dates to get an idea of average time between events. If you struggle trying to find delivery flight dates then have a look for FDBs at GLA on airliners.net or somewhere.

Normally there is a mention that one has been delivered over at Boeing and so it is likely to come through pretty soon after. We’ll generally know that one is expected maybe the day before but it depends on when they decide to set off from Seattle. Normally they are in too early like about 6 or 7 in the morning but this was a good one. The pics look a bit too bright on my screen at work… seemed fine in the house. Bloody LCD monitors. Move up or down in yer seat and it gets brighter and darker. Hmmm.

That’s 25 delivered now. 52 ordered in total and I believe the first couple are already sold by FlyDubai to India or somewhere. ha.
